নেত্রকোণার দুর্গাপুর পৌরশহরের ভিতর দিয়ে ভেজা বালু পরিবহন করে রাস্তাঘাট চলাচলের অনুপযোগী করার প্রতিবাদে দুর্গাপুর পৌরসভার সর্বস্তরের মানুষ, ব্যবাসায়ীগনসহ সুশীল সমাজ অনির্দিষ্টকালের জন্য ধর্মঘট চলেছে, এবং সকল দোকানপাট বন্ধ ঘোষণা করে রাস্তায় নেমেছেন।
গতকাল রোববার সকাল থেকে ওষুধের দোকান ছাড়া খাবার দোকান ও কাঁচা বাজার বন্ধ সহ সকল প্রকার দোকানপাট বন্ধ রয়েছে। এ উপলক্ষে সকল দোকানপাট বন্ধ রেখে স্থানীয় শহীদ সন্তোষ পার্ক মাঠে সকল ব্যবসায়ী, রাজনৈতিক নেতৃবৃন্দ, সুশিল সমাজ সহ বিভিন্ন সামাজিক সংগঠনের অংশগ্রহনে ভেজা বালু পরিবহন বন্ধের দাবিতে বিক্ষোভ ও প্রতিবাদ সমাবেশ করেছেন।
এ সময় টেলিকম ব্যবসায়ী সমিতির সভাপতি তাকদির হোসেন এর সঞ্চালনায় বস্ত্র ব্যবসায়ী সমিতির সভাপতি মো. কামাল উদ্দিনের সভাপতিত্বে অন্যদের মধ্যে বক্তব্য রাখেন, এডভোকেট প্রবীর মজুমদার চন্দন, উপজেলা সুজন সভাপতি অজয় সাহা, দুর্গাপুর বণিক সমিতির সাধারণ সম্পাদক বাপ্পী সাহা, ধান ব্যবসায়ী সমিতি সভাপতি সিরাজ মিয়া, গার্মেন্টস সমিতির সভাপতি জামাল উদ্দিন, ওয়ার্কসপ সমিতির সভাপতি মজিবুর রহমান মিলন, হকার্স সমবায় সমিতির সভাপতি নয়ন বেপারী, মৎস ব্যবসায়ী সমিতির সভাপতি মধু মিয়া, কাঠ মিস্ত্রী সমিতির সভাপতি আলমাস মিয়া, বঙ্গবন্ধু পরিষদের সাধারণ সম্পাদক মো. নুরুল ইসলাম, সিপিবি সভাপতি আলকাছ উদ্দিন মীর, নিরাপদ সড়ক চাই এর সভাপতি নুরুল আলম, ডা. আরিফ জোবায়ের সদস্য বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামীলীগ কেন্দ্রীয় উপ-কমিটি, সাবেক মেয়র কামাল পাশা, আ’লীগ মেয়র প্রার্থী আলা উদ্দিন আলাল, বিএনপি মেয়র প্রার্থী জামাল উদ্দিন, সিপিবি মেয়র প্রার্থী শামছুল আলম খান প্রমুখ। বক্তারা বলেন, দীর্ঘদিন ধরে দুর্গাপুর পৌর শহরের প্রধান প্রধান সড়ক দিয়ে ভেজা বালু পরিবহন করে আসছেন বালু ব্যবসায়ীরা।
এতে দোকানের সামনে কাঁদা জমে স্থুপে পরিণত হয়। সারাদিন বালু পরিবহনে হাজার হাজার ট্রাক ও লরির ভিজা ও কাদা পানিতে দুর্গাপুর পৌরশহর বর্তমানে সয়লাভ। বিভিন্ন সময় প্রশাসনকে জানানো হলেও কোন প্রতিকার ও সুফল না পাওয়ায় ব্যবসায়ীরা অনিদিষ্টকালের জন্য দোকানপাট বন্ধ ঘোষণা করেছেন। এ নিয়ে দ্রুত সমাধান না হলে আরও কঠোর কর্মসূচি হাতে নেয়া হবে বলে জানান ব্যবসায়ীরা। নিত্য প্রয়োজনীয় জিনিস কিনতে না পারায় মারাত্মক ভোগান্তিতে রয়েছেন তারা। পৌর সদরের বাসিন্দা মো. জামাল উদ্দিন জানান, সকাল থেকে সকল দোকানপাট বন্ধ থাকায় চরম ভোগান্তি পোহাতে হচ্ছে তাদের। নিত্য প্রয়োজনীয় জিনিসসহ অন্যান্য দ্রব্যাদি কিনতে না পারায় জনজীবন ব্যাহত হওয়ার পথে।
দুর্গাপুর উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা (ইউএনও) ফারজানা খানম জানান, পৌর শহরের ভেতর দিয়ে বালু পরিবহন বন্ধ করার দাবিতে উপজেলা সদরের সকল প্রকার দোকানপাট বন্ধ রেখেছে ব্যবসায়ীরা। তবে বিষয়টি নিয়ে জেলা প্রশাসক মহোদয়ের সঙ্গে আলোচনা করে দ্রুত ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে।এ নিয়ে সোমবার ১২ টায় জেলা প্রশাসক তাঁর সভাকক্ষে বালুমহালের ইজারাদার, বিডার, ও ব্যাবসায়ী নেত্রীবৃন্দ ও সুধীজন কে নিয়ে জরুরী সভার আহ্বান করেছেন।
