ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ার সরাইলে ভূমিহীন ও গৃহহীন পরিবারের মাঝে ১০২টি নতুন ঘর হস্তান্তর করা হয়েছে। মুজিব শতবর্ষে সরকারের আশ্রয়ণ প্রকল্পের আওতায় নির্মিত নতুন ঘর হস্তান্তর উপলক্ষে শনিবার সকালে উপজেলা প্রশাসনিক চত্বরে উক্ত অনুষ্ঠান অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। সারাদেশে এক যোগে ভিডিও কনফারেন্স এর মাধ্যমে ভূমিহীন ও গৃহহীনদের মাঝে নতুন ঘর হস্তান্তর অনুষ্ঠান উদ্বোধন করেন গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ সরকারের প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা।
উপজেলা প্রশাসনের উদ্যোগে উপজেলা চত্বরে আয়োজিত অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত সকলে ভার্চুয়াল পদ্ধতিতে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে অংশ গ্রহন করেন। এরপর সরাইল উপজেলার ভূমিহীন ও গৃহহীন ১০২টি পরিবারের মাঝে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর আশ্রয়ন প্রকল্প-২এর অধীনে নির্মিত নতুন ঘর হস্তান্তর করা হয়। এ সময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন, ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়ার জেলা সংরক্ষিত মহিলা আসনের এমপি উম্মে ফাতেমা নাজমা বেগম (শিউলি আজাদ), সরাইল উপজেলা পরিষদের চেয়ারম্যান আলহাজ্ব রফিক উদ্দিন ঠাকুর, উপজেলা নির্বাহী অফিসার আরিফুল হক মৃদুল, ভাইস-চেয়ারম্যান রোকেয়া বেগম, ভাইস-চেয়ারম্যান আবু হানিফ, সরাইল থানার অফিসার ইনচার্জ(ভারপ্রাপ্ত) শফিকুল ইসলাম, সদর ইউপি চেয়ারম্যান আব্দুল জব্বার ও চুন্টা ইউপি চেয়ারম্যান মো. হাবিববুর রহমান প্রমূখ ।
